Privacy and data protection
This explains what MOP UK, a UK cleaner directory run by a sole trader, does with personal data. Contact us about any of it at mop@foundable.app.
What we collect
- Accounts (everyone): email address and password, or your Google sign-in details; the name you give when signing up.
- Cleaner accounts: your mobile number given at sign-up.
- Cleaner profiles: name or business name, biography, services, town, postcode, service radius, a location point worked out from the postcode, years of experience, hourly rate, working days, optional WhatsApp number and contact email, and an optional photo.
- Messages: conversations between customers and cleaners, with read times, and any blocks or reports you make (including the reason you give).
What is public
Only an eligible cleaner profile is shown publicly: name, biography, services, town, radius, experience, rate, working days, photo and any WhatsApp number or contact email you chose to add. Use Pause my listing in your dashboard to take your profile out of public view; your data is kept while it is paused.
Why we use it
To run accounts, show cleaner listings, let users message each other, handle reports and keep the directory safe. Messages are visible to the people in that conversation, and to MOP's administrators when reviewing reports or running the service.
Where it is stored
Data is stored in MOP's hosted database and file storage, and the site runs on Cloudflare. Photos are kept in private storage and are readable by the public only while the profile is publicly listed.
Deleting your data
Use Delete account in your dashboard to remove your account, profile and messages. You can also remove your photo when editing your profile.
Your UK data protection rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to be informed about, access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and move your personal data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To use these rights email mop@foundable.app.
